Chinese electric vehicle brands are entering the global markets with ambitious plans and expectations. How serious are the risks, and what can be done?
Tomáš Krejčí has been employed at the National Cyber and Information Security Agency since its inception. Throughout his tenure at NÚKIB, he has primarily focused on implementing the Cyber Security Act and overseeing compliance with its associated obligations.
Previously, he held the position of Director of the Audit Department for over two years. Since July 2022, he has served as the of Deputy Director of NÚKIB, where he leads the National Cyber Security Center.
Erika Langerová is the Head of the Energy Systems Department and the Cybersecurity for Energy team at CTU UCEEB. She leads interdisciplinary research teams that integrate energy systems, cybersecurity, and strategic analysis, and she collaborates with industry, regulators, and international organizations to develop methodologies and solutions for protecting critical energy infrastructure. She also contributes to expert activities for European institutions and NATO and she authors analyses and publications on cyber threats to energy systems and the strategic security of energy infrastructure.
David Vigneault is the Managing Director of the Global Intelligence Unit for Strider Technologies. David supports engagement with private and public sector organizations as well as advances R&D efforts within the intelligence team. Prior to joining Strider, David was the ninth Director of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS), which is responsible for gathering, processing, and analyzing national security information from around the world.
During his seven-year tenure, David was the leading voice in Canada highlighting the growing threat of Chinese and Russian espionage campaigns including efforts to target the nation’s biopharmaceutical, health, artificial intelligence, quantum computing, ocean technology, and aerospace sectors.
Previously, David served as Assistant Secretary to the Cabinet, Security and Intelligence, Privy Council Office; Associate Vice-President of Program Operations for the Canada Border Services Agency; Director of Transnational Security at the Communications Security Establishment; and Executive Assistant to the Deputy Minister at the Department of National Defence.
Gert Auväärt is the Director of National Cyber Security Centre of Estonia (NCSC-EE) and the Deputy Director General of Estonian National Information System Authority (RIA), under which the NCSC-EE operates.
Mr. Auväärt represents the NCSC-EE both domestically and in international relations. In his role, he leads work on increasing cyber resilience across government and national critical infrastructure, awareness raising on cyber threats in the wider society as well as developing the Estonian Information Security Standard. As Director of NCSC-EE he is also responsible for overseeing the work of the national CERT and the Supervision Department, which is the regulatory body ensuring that important entities in Estonia comply with the cyber security measures stipulated in the Estonian Cyber Security Act.
Before his current appointment Mr. Auväärt has served as a diplomat for 16 years, in various posts covering cyber security and wider security policy. He was serving as the Deputy Representative of Estonia to the UN Security Council during Estonia’s Presidency of the UN Security Council in May 2020 and June 2021. In February 2022 he was awarded the Order of Merit of the White Star by the President of Estonia for outstanding diplomatic service.
Associate Professor JUDr. Jan Kolouch, Ph.D., has been actively involved in the CESNET association for an extended period and concurrently lectures at several universities, where he is responsible for courses focusing on cybercrime and cybersecurity. He collaborates on various initiatives with organizations such as CZ.NIC and security teams CERT/CSIRT. His primary area of expertise lies in the applicability of law and liability for unlawful conduct in cyberspace. He is the author of the books CyberCrime and CyberSecurity (https://knihy.nic.cz/) and contributes to various projects and training programs in cybersecurity, cybercrime prevention, and user protection.
