PANEL
5 Per Cent: Rethinking Cybersecurity Investments
in Light of NATO's New Defence Pledge

DAY 1 / 11:15 – 12:30 / MAIN HALL

With its new defence pledge, NATO Allies committed to invest 5 per cent of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) annually on defence requirements as well as defence and security-related spending by 2035. This expands opportunities for Allies to focus on security and defence related expenditures, such as protection of critical infrastructure, network defence, civil preparedness, or cybersecurity, up to 1.5 per cent of GDP. This panel will offer a discussion on views, approaches and plans on incorporating cybersecurity-related expenditures under the new defence pledge.
