Joel is a recognized cybersecurity expert with deep experience in security operations, incident response, and threat intelligence. He specializes in helping organizations enhance threat visibility and build robust capabilities to rapidly respond to APT groups and cybercrime intrusions. Throughout his career, Joel has contributed to international investigations targeting some of the world’s most notorious cybercriminal networks. He has also founded global intelligence-sharing communities and is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and a contributor to media outlets, where he shares insights on emerging threats and defence strategies.
Mikko Karikytö is the Chief Product Security Officer (CPSO) and Head of Product Security at Ericsson with accountability for security requirements, standards, strategy and architecture related to product development and management, as well as overall accountability of product security and product privacy.
He serves as a senior advisor on Product and Solution Security to the CTO, and other executive Ericsson leaders. Mikko has previously worked as Head of Network Security and Head of PSIRT (Product Security Incident Response Team), responding to, investigating, and resolving cybersecurity incidents and breaches affecting Ericsson customers worldwide.
Mikko is actively involved in industry collaboration through organizations like ETIS, FIRST and various EU Commission work groups. He has also provided a subject-matter expertise for committee hearings of the UK parliament and the German Bundestag in 5G Security.
Working at the Ministry of Industry and Trade for almost 13 years, he is responsible for international affairs and relations in the telecommunication/ICT ecosystem representing the Czech government administration. It includes discussions and negotiations within the EU, as well as in various international organizations (e.g., the ITU).
